Default B series into EK help needed, first time with OBDII

OK, I'm helping a friend swap a 00 B16 into his 96 Hatch. We have a 00 P2t, and a 00 Engine harness. My first question is, There are only 2 ECU plugs on the harness. The original single cam harness had 3 plugs. Is this normal? I'm assuming this has something to do with the whole OBDIIA, OBDIIB thing. Am I right? Also will that affect anything since this is a 96 EK? We didn't have an OBDII dizzy, and I had a 99 LS dizzy layin around so we chopped off a leg and used that, will that be ok? Any help will be appreciated. I don't mean to sound like a dumbass, It's just this is my first time with OBDII. I've only ever done EG, and EF swaps before. Thanks!

You don't mix OBD2a and OBD2b engine harnesses, which means you will end up using his stock '96 hatch harness and modify to suit. If you want to use the '99-'00 P2T ECU, then you will need an OBD2b-to-OBD2a jumper harness.

Have you removed his single cam motor AND engine harness yet?

Yep, he is right.
You need to reuse the '96 harness.

Yea the b-series motor is aleady in. It's just missing the harness. Looks like I'm gonna have to take all the wires I need from the 99 harness, and throw em in the 96 one. And look for a jumper harness... this sux! This is why I stick to OBDI!!!

obd2 isn't that bad... i just got a 96-98 ex harness... and dropped it right in... everything should plug right up..with maybe extending a few wires...i would convert the car to obd1 with a conversion harness and get a new ecu.. trust me obd2 ecu's suck... any your gonna need to get the right dizzy...that ls rigged up crap isn't gonna work...
