Default Anyone with B18C in crx, could you point me in the right direction?

Well I want to start off by saying hi ! I'm new to this forum, so I'll give you a bit of info to go on... I have an 88 hf, and a 96 b18c1, that i want to swap in. I am taking my time with this, so it is done correctly. I'm looking at either Hasport or HCP mounts.

Well my question is this, where can I find a good step by step on the swap? With a good list of parts needed. I know hasport has one, but they also have everything they could possibly need to make it go smoothly. If you guys can help it would be great, also any personal experience with this would be cool too. Thanks in advance.

I recommend the hasport mounts. I use those for every swap I do.

You will want to get a 90-93 integra transmission. The gsr transmission is nicer
if you arent going to have a turbo.

As far as axles are concerned, get the axles that match the intermediate shaft
you are going to use. http://www.hasport.com has a good article on axles/intermediate shafts.

Otherwise, it should go smoothly because you have an HF. You will have to remove
the resistor box and splice the plugs from the gsr harness onto your HF harness.
Also you will have to add the wiring for vtec/oil pressure and knock sensor.

I believe hasport even makes replacement harnesses which make things
much easier.

Thanks for the info, but I have a question on the tranny. I can use the tranny that goes with the engine if I get a placeracing kit to go from hydro to cable. Is it easier to pick up the 90-93? Or more cost effective than the kit?

The wiring is the only thing I'm apprehensive about. Is there anything I need to do as far as this obd1 and obd2 stuff is concerned? And thanks again.

The gsr trans wont "bolt in" using the mount kit.
I would suggest you sell the trans and buy the cable. You would actually
make money doing that.

You will want to reuse the HF engine harness. That way you wont have to worry
about any OBD stuff. The distributor you will need will depend on which ECU
you plan to use. If you want to convert your harness to 92-95 spec, then you
will want to transfer the distributor plug from the hf to the gsr. that way the
distributor harness will plug in. If you plan to use a PR3/PW0 ECU then you
will need to get an 89-91 B16A distributor.

use the place racing mounts, and hydro to cable tranny conversion... it works and the gsr will work and will mount with the place racing mounts

I don't think that any company makes a cable to hydro conversion. They make a hydro to cable conversion.....so that you can run a cable tranny in a hydro equipped car. That would be silly to convert a cable equipped car to hydro....slave sleeve, fluid lines, etc.

Ok, I should have all the stuff for this one. You will need to run a mount kit. I recommend HCP. For the price, it is the best kit on the market. 4 eurathane mounts with adjustable shift linkage. Next, if you are going all motor with this setup, I recommend either a S1 or a J1 cable bseries trannies. If you are going turbo, I would get the YS1 LS cable tranny. You will make some money from selling the GSR hydro trans off that swap. Next thing.....ditch the stock intake manifold and get a skunk2 manifold. You will eliminate a lot of problems with the secondary butterflys. As for the wiring....the best way to do it is, keep your stock HF harness, convert your car to OBD1 and run a chipped P28 ecu, reuse the 96 distr, get some OBD1 injector and run one of my OBD0-OBD1 conversion harnesses. You can also use the Pr3 first gen b16a ecu, distr, and injectors....but those ecus are hard to come by and the distributors always go out. I have most of the stuff you need to do this swap. Also, I can wire your car for all the vtec sensors too. Axles, you can just get the ones for a 90-93 teggie and get the intermediate shaft from the same car that the axles come off of. Here it is:
HCP mount kit = 410.00 shipped
OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness = 140 +shipping
Chipped P28 = https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=106162 (awesome deal)

I have a 98 JDM B18C in my EF. Let me know if you have anymore Q's.

Hey thanks for all the info guys, now I just have to make the decisions, on how I want to go ahead with this. Hey Blown90hatcH, do you have a shop? Or are those the going prices for that stuff? If you do, then I will definitly keep you in mind, those seem pretty good to me. How hard is it to put in the conversion harness? And I have a few more dumb questions for you about the set up,could you drop me an e-mail at patbrunelle@hotmail.com. Thanks again

I dont have a shop....just been doing this for awhile. Those prices on the mount kit and harness....Those are what I sell them for right now. I have both readily available. The conversion harness, you will just plug in, read the instructions on connecting wires to the appropriate sensors( Vtec, Knock, Etc.) Email me....or AIM Turbo_EF@yahoo.com or turboef8 on AIM

Do you have the same parts but for a B20 in a 4th gen? It should use the same mounts right?
