Well just becuase it's a LS/Vtec it shouldn't leak. Well my car makes a tapping noise in the head. But that is a bad lost motion control assembly and does not effect performance or reliability. But is damn annoying!!!! I would break it in for about 800 or so mile and then mash out!!!!!

same here, my motor was very quiet and stock sounding. knocking is not good. you want to explain when and where the knocking is coming from? is it all the time, or under heavy load? whats the deal?

everytime when starting up the motor theres knocking in the block. everything was install correctly. bearings are all changed and crankshaft regrind for new main bearings also. but when driving theres no problem, just happens when the car is idleing. please any suggestions.

is it loud? did you plastigauge everything when assembling it? did you adjust the valves when you put the head on? did you mill the head? what pistons are you using?

is it a knock or a tick, if its a tick it could be many things. These include valve lash, injectors, bad piston pin, etc.

well im using the b16a pr3 pistons with new rings and new rods with the stock ls rods. its a knock. and im sure its not the valves. valves have a tingleing sound but its a knock. only happens when idleing. any thoughts.
