95zc into 89 civic swap, something went wrong.
I recently did a swap on my 89civic si to a 95 civic zc.
swap went great and all started, then I ran into a problem.
the car would loose power(electrical) at about 2500 rpm and then come right back
checked out all wiring and also checked for shorts could not find any.
then one day the car just died and would not start again.
I replaced the engine wiring, replaced ground wires, and even checked the main relay. when ever I turn the key I get nothing. So I replace my ecu with a know good one, still would not start.
When ever I turn on my head lights I would get all the dashboard lights like If I had the key in the ignition, but the keys where in my hand, and the headlight and taillights never came on. WEIRD...
I could not find the short and could not figure it out. So I decided to do a full swap. replace engine wiring from the 89 civic si to a 95 civic.
Also replace the inside wiring from the 89 civic si to the 95 civic ex(same as 95ZC)
made sure all ground and all wires match the equipment, plugged everything in, tried to start the car and got NOTHING!!, try to turn on the light, got dashboard lights like if the key was on the ignition.
Now I am ready to just shoot the car.
Anyone have any ideas on what is goind on,
Replaced the main relay on this harness to just to make sure.
and also replace ecu.
have new distributor
and new alternator.
Thanks.
Joe
