89 HF motor going into 90 DX hatch--motor wiring harness problems. help please.

Default 89 HF motor going into 90 DX hatch--motor wiring harness problems. help please.

after a bunch of swaps and wheeling and dealing, i ended up with an extra HF motor and a clean 90 DX hatch shell. i decided to put the two together to get another running car. the wiring harness is proving to be a bit of a headache. on the passenger side, by the fuse box, is a 6 pin connector with nothing coming from the car side to plug into. on the driver's side, there is an 8 pin connector coming from the motor, with a 12 pin connector going into the car. not only are the number of wires and colors different, but the plugs are different sizes. i have an 88 DX hatch outside, is my best bet to swap the intake manifold on the HF to the DX, and use the DX harness? thanks.

You basically have 2 choices:

1.) Use the DX intake manifold, engine harness, distributor and ECU to make it simple and keep it DPFI

2.) Use the DX engine harness and rewire it for MPFI, then you'll need the HF distributor, fuel injectors, resistor box and a PM6 Si ECU (HF Sucks )

dual point it is. do any sensors change between the motors for the dpfi swap? (hf and dx)

this has to be one of the first mpfi to dpfi swaps. haha.
