36mm ITR axle probs - can i use 32mm b series outer joints ?
Right, cant find any info so here goes
'00 JDM ITR motor into a d series EG, have the itr 36mm axles but they dont fit (knew this already) I am having major problems sourcing correct DOHC shafts, had 2 wrong sets so far So the set of mint ITR shafts are appealing since they are free, so
Are there any OEM outer joints that will fit on the 36mm axles to make them 32mm. I can get a set of EG6 shafts with broken inboard joints, so can i swap the outers onto the ITR shafts
If anyone can help please let us know, would lik eto know before i buy them and end up with 4 pairs of shafts that i cant use

Surely someone has done this with shafts that came with a swap, or at least tried

Well obviously it wont since my 98> JDM ITR shafts dont. If i had a set of 94-01 teg shafts it wouldnt be a problem
I know what should fit What i want to know is if i can make my set of mint JDM shafts work instead of wasting money on another set with unknown history
So no-one has tried swapping joints then

I hate second-hand info, but I have *heard* that people have used Prelude outer joints on the otherwise stock Integra axles to make it work.
Please double check this info though, because again this is just something I've *heard* and not experienced first-hand.

And CRV too, thats the fix for 32mm axles/36mm hubs, that wasnt my problem though
As the title i am the dyslexix version, 36mm axles/32mm hubs
Anyway it DOES work, EG6/DC2 etc 32mm outer joints do fit on JDM ITR 36mm shafts, shafts are now fitted . They are identical barshafts, same spline on the joint/bar interface, so they are interchangable. No piccies sorry, as the car is at the shop and i am at work
Just to clarrify i am currently running 98> JDM ITR shafts with EG6 outer joints, the inner joints are identical
I am guessing here, but for the 36mm outer joints if they are 5x114.3 hubs from a similar year then the joints are going to be similar. the difference in the joints was that they were the next body size up (larger dia), and the hub spline was also 20mm longer, but the shafts are the same length measured joint to joint rather than tip to tip. I think Honda wanted befier hubs/bearings, not shafts, hence the outer joints being the only difference. I am guessing they had issues in the field with wheel bearing or stud failures(most likeley since EDM ITR's are 5x114.3 ) and upped the stud count.
If anyone wants em i have some mint 36mm outer joints, postage might be high, but i can do a deal These will bolt onto any DOHC shaft for a Bseries JDM 5 lug swap

whoaaaa slow your roll
did you try putting regular b series axles in from a integra? or si or b16 del slow?
the only thing different about the jdm itr axles are the part that goes into the hub assembly and that is 36mm instead of the regular 32mm used on all b and d series motors, the part of the axle that goes into the tranny is the same on everything
cliff notes~
only jdm itr axles have 36mm outer splines that dont fit into no jdm itr hubs
if you buy jdm itr 5 lug conversion you have to use jdm itr axles
jdm ctr, jdm non type r integras, usdm type r's, usdm all integras have 32mm splines

No not what i am saying read my original post

I was just answering my own question for future reference, since i couldnt find the info myself, thought it may be usefull

The answer is yes, if you have 32mm hubs and shafts from a JDM 98> ITR (ie 36mm outer joints), you can swap the 36mm outer joints for any 94-01 integra or B16 Del sol ( I am now running new outer joints from a UKDM EG6 as they are easy to source in the UK on JDM 98> ITR shafts) and it will bolt up fine.
Or if you have the 36mm hubs and a B Series motor, if you can just get 36mm outer joints (from a 98> JDM ITR or CRV i think) and put them on any 94-01 integra or B16 Del sol (or EG6 etc) shafts (bar shafts and inner joints). I now have the 36mm joints spare sitting in the garage if anyone needs em
So basically
36mm JDM ITR outer joints and 32mm outer joints from 94-01 DC2/B16A2's etc are interchangeable
hope its a little clearer now

Re: 36mm ITR axle probs - the dyslexic version
now i have a problem, I broke the rightside inner part in the CV that holds the 3 bearings, this from my 99 JDM ITR which has the 36mm axles.
the center core of the inner CV (rightside) that hold the 3 bearings in the CV.
I need that part, Which other model i can use, accord+ prelude i was told, I assume the 95-97 ITR axle items are not fitable in the ones i need?
