2000 si engine > 97 hb: Guide to rewiring harness?
Wondering if anyone knows of any resources to help out here regarding wiring changes. Don't want to go OBD-1 (which was suggested) as I have to pass emissions. Thanks.

use your stock harness w/ added vtec wires. Get a 96-97 DS vtec ECU (OBD2 P30). The ECU is hard to find so good luck. That is the easiest way to do it so it's what I suggest you try to do. The 99-00 Si ECU has different plugs; 96-98 & 99-00 ECU plugs are different.

Get a harness from a 5sp 96-99 Civic Ex. Everything would just plug up and all u would have to do is modify the O2 sensor wire. Just grab the plug for the O2 sensor and cut the harness carfully pulling along until it is in about the middle of the harness. Retape parts of the harness and u are good to go. Use an obd2 gs-r ecu or get a skunk 2 harness and an obd1 gs-r or dohc vtec del sol ecu.

Del Sol VTEC(b16a3) 96-97
It's the basically the same as the 99-00 Si ecu, just different sockets...your stock harness will plug right in, you just need to add a few wires. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, you can get a 96-98 EX harness and it is complete. I got lucky to find a Sol P30 ECU, I paid $180 for it...a bit much, but worth how much hassle it saves me.

I have searched around to no avail. How much would a 96-98 harness run? Unless someone could tell me which wires to add. Or do I have to make some educated guesses based on the helms? Thanks.

I paid $110 shipped from a yard in Seattle.
Worked like a charm.
Get that harness then check out:

Re: 2000 si engine > 97 hb: Guide to rewiring harness? (Trey)
Yeah I saw that site. If I have to pay $110 plus $130 for a new ecu it seems like I should just buy a OBD2(96-98)>OBD2(99-00) conversion harness. For as little as these 2k si ecus sell for it seems like a lot of hassle while not greatly reducing the overall cost of the swap. Thanks guys.
BTW Trey, I saw you driving through Roswell/Alpharetta a few months ago. Really surprising to see that "JDM" look in the land of purple pearl and 19s...
