Thanks for trying to help... I need a tach capable of reading 12K RPM's. I've asked before with little helpa nd have just been told that the Apexi tach will read 12,000. Now... I was going with the Autometer Ultra Lite Pro Comp gauges b/c I liked the silver faces and they were cost effective. Now that Autometer can't help me I'm hoping you can. Does anyone know what companies make a tach capable of reading 12k RPMs accuretly? I would like to see some pics of the Apexi and other tachs and gauges to decide how I can do this... I'm not crazy about the white face.. and the Indoglo seems like plain rice to me. I don't want people to look in my car and see a 5" tach glowing bright blue in the middle of my dash. Now, if this is my only option... whats the deal with the Indiglo. I used to have indiglo gauges back in the day.. no crack ok? lol i'm over that stuff now... anyways... they faded... is the apexi tach going to look faded in 6 months? Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

The apexi tach only looks good in black to me. My buddy has one and I really like it. Here is a pick. . Or you can get one of these. . hehe you can even chose your rpm range. One goes up to 22,000 RPM!!

Are you running a motorcycle engine or something? Why do you need a tach with such a high rev?

I like it a lo better with the black face. Does anyone actually use this tach? I'd like to hear some opinions on it's quality as well as the shift light(s) compatible with it... or a picture of APEX-I's shift light.

I need a tach that reads up to about 12k b/c i'm putting a fully built b16 in my integra that will redline @ about 12k rpms and I need a tach capable of accuretly displaying such a high RPM. I'll be shifting @ 11,500 on the track so a shift light would be pretty essential to play it safe.

sounds like you will have a killer out on the streets..

honestly i dont think that most tachs are that accurate that high just as speedometers.. i have a autometer 5" tach w/ shift light in my car as well as a VAFC and i have noticed many times that vafc is more accurate when it gets into the higher rpms than both the stock tach and autometer tach.. what about a digital tach like the vafc has and then a an autometer shift light w/ a pill that will redline at 11500 like you want????

I have strongly considered that since I have the VAFC... but.. the VAFC is mounted on my visor (driver's side), so I would have to drive with the visor down when I was playin around the streets. The shiftlight I need.. Just have to decide on the tach. I like the Apexi black faced tach, but I am curious as to how it will look at night... how bright the apexi shift light is... and how that black faced tach will look with all my ultra lite pro comp silver autometer gauges. Thanks for the suggestion.
