Default [Help] - Eg h22 alternator problem

Hi

Everytime I start my car with the alternator plugged in, it would fired up for about 2-3 seconds then stall. When I unplug the alternator, it starts up fine. This problem only happens on cold starts

Has anyone had a similar problem to this on HT or know how to fix this problem

thanks

hmmm seems like the alternator is some how draining ur power. Your battery is able to start the car just fine, its seems there may be something wrong with the alternator draining power giving ur car no power, i would just throw in a new alternator or change the diodes

I've changed to a new alternator, still having the same problem. I'll give the diodes a try

thanks

Sounds like the atlernator is grounding out ur power. Check all of ur connections.

I'm thinking it might be the wiring as well. This is because the eg alternator
plug(Aus spec) has 3 wires coming out were as the h22 has 4.

Did you have similar problem wiring up the alternator?

thanks
