I havn't read much about aftermarket throttle bodies so can someone share their knowledge with me? Does the 70mm throttle body offer noticable performance? are the only two makes skunk 2 and spoon?(is one better than other) Is installation hard? complications? thanks!

 

Ive heard it gives you a little power, better response. But I suppose it'll work better if you port your manifold to match.

what he's saying is that the opening on your intake manifold where the throttlebody goes is smaller than 70mm.

Therefore, if you go buy a 70mm TB you won't actually be getting 70mm-worth of air into the plenum and thus to optimize gains from the larger TB you'll need to change the size of the plenum opening to match that of the 70mm throttlebody.

Worth it... you'll prolly get 8-10 WHP outta the deal and will notice even more with a free flowing exhaust...

I have an extra TB and IM i have laying around because I was going to have this process done and may go with a different approach... LMK if you want them so you dont have any downtime...

yeah... and since your going to be reinstalling your IM... youll def want to pick up a hondata gasket... match this with a Injen CAI and Im sure your car will be screaming...

what size would be best?

Car will be boosted in a few months.

my options are 66mm, 68mm, and 70mm.
I figure bigger is better in this case.

there were some peopl ehaving lean conditions with the 70mm tb. i know i read it here sometime back, so you may wanna look into that before you buy. but since you are gonna boost, might as well get the biggest one and let the tuning od the trick.

 

If your going to be boosting the car, I wouldn't waste the money on the oversize TB.
