Am I the only one that doesn't like bass? hahaha!

I'm more of a very very Low if not, no bass, High Treble type of guy. I Like hearing a lot more voice than hearing nothing boom booms hahaha

I like bass, but I didn't like putting a 130lb 12W7 + box + RF bd1500 into my S. Not after gutting it like I did.

You gotta have some bass to hear all the music in a song.

I can't see a 5" driver producing low frequencies(below 80Hz) so there's no real point.

remember our cars are 2 seaters.

if you're going for BIG BANG then a 12" in the trunk is good but that sub you mentioned could add a little kick. i'd like to see it mounted in the kick panel.

Have you considered the eD 7Kv.2?

A 7" driver that produces 10Hz? 108 decibels is nothing when your car puts out 124.

You could still install 2 of these in the cabin, in about the same space as an 8".

What I'm trying to say is... I still won't be able to hear it.

Specs look good on those sub though. the 7" would do well in the kickpanel as part of a 3 way set-up.

My bro has an S and I always wondered how to get decent bass sound in his car, especially with the top down.

Have any of you considered mounting pressure inducers to the seats to transmit the bass directly to the body? - I think it's referred to as bone transmission, where you sort of feel the bass instead of hear it. I saw this at a CES a few years back and it was installed in a lazyboy. Worked decent with the upside that you didn't rattle the walls of the house and disturb your neighbors especially if you lived in the city where houses were built right up against each other. I haven't followed this technology since so I don't know where it has come since then.

JamesS I think this is similar to what you are referring to.

FR-MOB. I understand what you are saying but hopefully your exhaust isn't 124db in the car. If it is I don't thin you are going to hear your radio regardless.

The bass won't be like having a 12" sub but you would still hear it, and lose very little space. The floor space that you would lose for a passenger would be far less than using almost any trunk setup.

I am just trying to give an option here. I figure if a guy is gonna spend so much on a 5" sub he might as well give this little 7 a try first since it is a lot cheaper.

It gets pretty close since the top stays down. I don't hear my stereo at all unless I'm cruising or at a stop.
