Default SHIFT ****/BOOT GAP

alright guys this is something thats been bugging me for long time...I bought my s2k used and i have a gap (where Boot meets the nut ) any ideas on how to get rid of that and make it look clean and short? or at least eliminate the gap....thanks

1) Get Washer

2) Put washer in shift boot onto the shifter arm

3) Pull up shift boot over washer.

4) screw ****

5) Done son

just undo the nut, put the boot inbetween the nut and shifter, then tighten it up again.
