ls1 in s2000?
I would first like to know how much the whole swap would cost me? i dont even have an s2000 yet but i AM getting one before i leave to the marines in march. i can find a nice ap2 on craigs for around 16k, ive had my integra for too long its time for an uprade from a poor mans r and f22 just wont cut it for me, ive never done a swap like this before what ALL is needed for a complete swap including engine, will it be reliable? and most of all will it be worth it? let me know your guy's ideas Thanks!!
i'm almost willing to call troll on this one.
this is ridiculous. i can certainly understand the want for a bigger engine in the s2000 (not my thing but we're all different) but to assume that you could just "toss in" an engine of different size, displacement, horsepower, make, application with zero custom fabbing / custom swapping experience is ludicrous. to top it off the s2000 is well built to start with and with reasonably cheap mods will out handle your integra in the twisties as if you were sitting still.
you will get few decent responses to this question for a few reasons:
-if you had the abilities to do this, you would have bought a smashed corvette or GTO and started the swap already
-you would not worry about reliability issues if you had the car completely apart and know where every component is and how it works (what's a small engine rebuild when you just spent 15k retrofitting the engine)
-you would have searched AT LEAST google before you ask here
and i severely doubt that anyone has a comprehensive parts list because there is alot of custom work to be done; mounts, wiring, adapters, drive shaft(s), differential, hubs, stance, alignment angles etc etc.
the point of these unique swaps is to be just that. unique. so if you want to try it, try it but i'll be the first to warn you that NOTHING is compatible, including the engine bay, and if you choose to quit half way, your 16k s2000 is now worth 500$ to somebody who will have to fix it, due to the sawzall marks all over the place.
