S2000 Engine swap to an old Alfa Romeo??
Hi there
Just want to know if anybody has any experience of transplanting a S2k engine to other cars?
And how hard is that to look for a complete drivetrain of a S2000?
How much would that be if I buy it new from a Hodna dealer?
Thanks.

although it IS possible, i wouldn't go through the hassle of doing it..

the s2000 motors can be had for a little under 4000. in theory this wouldnt be that hard of an install since the car was already made as a rwd. you would have to fab up some motor mounts. this would just be trial and error. you could have a custom drive shaft made from the existing drive shaft in the car and an s2000 drive shaft. then there is the wiring id say this would probably be the most time consuming.
someone overseas has already put the f20 in an ae86:

as somewhat of an alfa fan, I say go for it I can't really offer too much in the way of advice but I have seen complete s2k engine/tranny/driveshaft/rearends on ebay for around $4000. that would probably be your best bet on price.
what are you thinking of dropping it into? older spyder?
I've seen the F20c inbetween the front wheels of an old triumph. take heart, it can be done

If I happened to have an S2000 drivetrain sitting around, I'd put it in a Lotus 7!!!! Think about this, they only weigh about 1200 pounds.

God damn, I heard the funniest **** when i went to Honda a long time ago right when S2000's where coming out. This guy that worked there was dead serious and he told me that he had a few friends that had S2000 motors in there 98 hatches. He explained to me how they ran 9 second quarter miles all day long. We just fucked with the guy so it was really funny. He also thought that a 2002 Civic EX could beat my friends old stock '94 LS... But yea if you're gonna do this I would just put it in an EK or something like that. If you could get that to work so that it looked cool and was daily driven you would be set. Of course the motor would be sleeved first and set up for BOOST.

I'm thinking of a 1974 GTV 2000...
My friend has a Spyder and even though the Alfa engine sound really nice, it's a Pain ITA to keep it running.
I actually thought of putting that into a Super 7, but after I test drove my friend's 7 with a FORD ZETEC DOHC, I don't want 240 horses on that car.
BTW, thank you all!!

GTVs own me. If I can ever come up with some cash and find one on the east coast without a ton of cancer (yeah right) i'm buying it.
