Hey guys,
I have a co worker with an S2K and recently he has been having a problem with the idle dropping pretty low when he blips the throttle. It goes so low it almost stalls out the car. His S2k is 100% stock.
So what could be causing this? anything we can do to fix this without taking it to Honda?
Thanks,
Chris

Just a simple tune up should take care of the problem, depending on mileage. Plugs, all filters, oil change and a good fuel injector should take care of the issue.
If not, then I would check the IACV. take it off the throttle body and clean it out really good. That may be the issue.
How many miles are on the car?

It's a typical problem with S2k. Especially when it's humid or sudden weather change. The ecu will relearn and it will be back to normal. When it does that, don't tap the gas. Just let it learn on itself. It will go away in a day or two. If not, then read more on the map sensor problem. hope this help.

Yeah the temp just changed this week. I believe he has around 60K miles on his car, so it probally ready for a tune up. Is there a way to adjust the IACV? where is it located?

If it doesn't self correct in a few days, then the easiest cure I've found is to perform the Idle set procedure which involves removing the ECU fuse and letting her run at a constant 3000 RPM for 5-7 minutes.
MAP Sensor issues I have not had, but I hear you just whack it with a screwdriver to cure it.
BTW, I'm in Rock Hill
