Default Excuse my ignorance.....need help with Tein Hood dampers......

I just got my Tein Hood dampers in and I followed the instructions to a tee. Now, it does'nt seem like my hood wants to close. Please tell me what I did or am doing wrong.

I compressed my dampers before installing. sorta just to break them in, ya know? Did you do that? I remember when I first compressed the dampers by hand, they were super hard to push down. I had to use all my weight. Then after compressing them 6-7 times, they were compressing a lot smoother. Careful not to pull down too hard on your hood... it will bend. Good luck.

Yeah I had to push mine down really hard the first time also. Almost felt like they weren't working. I like the break in idea.
