Default engine

Need to replace my engine and need to know if anyone has ever ran a jdm f20c with usdm ecu and everything worked out fine. I rather pay the same price for the jdm engine and get a trans to if it works.

Ive been running a f20c in my ap1 (with usdm ecu) for about a year and a half now with no problems. I do know that the f20c block is going to need the KNOCK SENSOR from the usdm block. Also when i first ran my jdm engine i was worried about the lower octane (us premium) creating detonation, but so far the engine has been running just fine on us gas.
The jdm engine feels like it has a little bit more torque than the usdm to me.

hope this helps
Antonio

technically speaking, all s2k motors are JDM...they only made that car in japan, so i dont see it being an issue honestly...

I disagree. the f20c1 was never available to the Japanese market. (has lower compression and knock sensor).

regardless if you disagree or not, you're wrong...all s2k motors were made and assembled in japan, therefore, all s2k motors are technically JDM...doesnt matter what markets got what..they all came from japan...and "technically" was the key word there guy

Swapping the JDM motor in? Why not get a OEM USDM motor then? I'm sure it would be cheaper. If I'm not mistaken the JDM S2000 has 250 crank horse. They also have better gas.

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market

Anyway, I put an EDM engine into a USDM car (with USDM computer) if that means anything...
