clean top ???
This is some what of a dumd question but i never found a cleaner for my S2K top. Plus i was worried of the damage that years of rain, sun and all of that stuff would have on the soft top, Should i be worried about it. And what can i use to clean the top with?.
i just clean my top just like i would wash any one of my cars....just regular meguires car wash....
i have heard about a uv protectant spray that will help out w/ protecting it from the elements....
sorry i cant think of the name of the product at this time.

i used to use porsche soft top shampoo and their protectant spray. The protectant spray is pretty much like a scotch guard. The Shampoo isn't bad stuff, very gentle and works well. Isn't cheap.
I clean mine about every other wash, just depends on how dirty it looks. Then, about once a month, hit it with some Aerospace 303 protectant. I've been slacking lately though with the protectant...
How well would one of these tops hold up in winter with Ice and snow on it?
I was looking at a used S2k and was gonna winter drive it. Part of the sports car experience i guess.

i think the top would hold up fine.... depending on how much snow and i weight were on it... obviously you dont want a foot of snow hanging out up there
the car is a bitch to drive in the snow though..... better find something w/ fwd or 4 wheel drive...

It will be fine. It's a 50/50 weight distribution and I would get a second set of rims with snow tires. It also has LSD.
RWD isn't bad so long as you don't try to run huge HP and the car is well balanced. Also, snow tires are amazing.

The torsen LSD that comes in the s2000 is well suited for a car with a lot of torque. While it works for the s2000, I've found clutch pack LSD's too be much more "reactive" to slip as opposed to torsen types. You'll know what I mean when you lose traction on wheel wheel and it'll still continue to spin.

Regardless, I drove my GSR on snow tires and that had an open diff. I got around just fine. In fact it might be nice to have RWD for the winter. I'd learn the car damn quick in a relatively safe environment (lower speed).

Turtle wax makes a UV protectant called Super Protectant. It comes in a green bottle and could be had at walmart for $4. It also works awesome on interior as well. I have been asked numerous times at s2000 meets by fellow owners to what I use on my top. Super Protectant 2000 I believe is the full name
