AEM V2 or V1?

I already got the Tanabe Exhauts! And i think the AEM should help cold air reach the ENGINE faster!
I got a friend with a 03 Suzuka with only MOD is AEM CAI and i raced him on wensday Roll on from 1st Gear and we stay together until 3rd gear he pulled like 1 car......
i think the AEM is the difference...!
His car is already Broken in too he got 22k miles on it! And i got 1,500 miles on my 03 Spa! i Dynoed 189.1 WHP....

Any number of factors could have influenced his slight victory...be it that his car was broken in, or that he is a better driver. I can tell you that an untuned AEM intake isnt going to make a car length difference.
