Quite the contrary, dealers had a waiting list on them for a very long time. Several people I know that bought new ones back in the day either waited forever, or bought their 2nd or 3rd color choice. Some even bought an SI when they were after a VTEC.

It wasn't until 00-01 that dealers had some issues moving them...

Your body must reverse digest with all the **** that comes out of your mouth...
What do you do for the bad taste/breath that is a result?

To mirror this i've sold 4 base model Preludes in the past 2 months, 97's...I wouldnt' call the car unpopular, but for a TUNER it's not the likely first choice...

Chicks love em tho'..hence the buyers.

Its not that they were unpopular, they were just too expensive with too many other cheaper, similar performing alternatives from Honda. With the Civic Si, Integra GSR/Type-R, Accord V6, it was doomed.

Of the four commercials you posted, one of them was home made, one of them looks like a Euro market commercial, one of them was for the last Prelude, and the other one was for the model before that.

So that is really only one domestic commercial per generation. That isn't a lot of advertising.

All you had to do was search on the internet for Prelude commercials and post what you found. That says nothing for how much those commercials were actually shown.

In the late 90s the Honda engine absolutely dominated the CART/Champcar series, and Honda ran tons of their commercials during the races. I don't remember seeing any Prelude commercials.

They did stop building the car. Why exactly do you think they did that? It wasn't because they were in high demand.

It was because of the slow sales. So the people that bought the last models left probably got some major discounts.

Any car can be sold with big enough discounts.

General Motors was even able to sell off all the Pontiac Aztecs they built.

Honda did stop selling the car didn't they?

So explain to me why they stopped selling it if the sales were so strong.

You couldn't tell the difference between a home made "commercial" and a real one.

So tell me again who is ignorant.

i don't think the honda is that un popular per say, idk. i test drove a 5th gen prelude for my buddy when he was looking for a car, and i absolutely LOVED it. i love the 3rd gens as well, however i think the 4th gens look too much like a messed up accord with a fat ***. perhaps preludes weren't so popular because for the price of them, one could get a similar vehicle from acura with more features? idk. i know i bought my civic because it was "cheap" (hahahaha that's a joke!) and because i guess i jumped on the band wagon.

I suppose the reason the Prelude isn't popular is because they didn't sell that many. They didn't sell that many for countless reasons: too expensive, not fast enough, too heavy, "questionable" styling, lack of advertising...

What else should be on the list?

So I guess your fav. Car the camaro sucked ***** too. because they stopped sellin it shortly after.

And brought it back as a big body ghetto car like the charger that everyone puts 22's on.

thats why you dont see preludes on the track, only EGs, Eks, DC's...... lighter, interchangeable parts friendly, looks sexy, more options, etc. i like any honda im not hatin on the lude but i would chose eg,ek,dc over lude anyday.IMO

plus you wouldnt see a b16 or a GSR in a prelude... cuz its too heavy

Slow sales are exactly why they stopped selling the Camaro as well. It was an old design that nobody wanted anymore.

the h22 overpowers both of those engines from the start.. why would you wanna put a 1.6 in a prelude that comes with a 200 hp 2.2?

thats what im saying. heavier= of course you need a big engine.

with a eg or dc all you can do is bigger.

h22 in a civic will overpower your prelude.
