what is this light?
i have an automatic (SS) 5th gen lude, and i was on the high way and i put it in second at like 35 MPH (in sport shift) and took it up to like 7000 and then in third. this light came on, in the manual it says its a "malfunction indicator lamp"...what is it? what do i do about it? im going racing next week, if it happens there, what do i do about it? sorry guys, im just kinda worried, its a new car. TIA
Uh....I would assume it means something is wrong. Just reset your ecu and keep an eye on it. It could be anything the whole ecu trips out over bad gas or too much humidiity in air etc.
good luck.
good luck.
i just got a VAFc and it was tuned via wideband and i went to the honda dealer and they siad that it might be the VAFC. wont resetting the ECU erase the settings? i am dropping the car off at honda tomorow morning.
BTW: anyone else had this problem?

You car detects one lil thing wrong *bing* on comes the light. And if your the average consumer, you take your car to honda....and take it raw for $80, so they can tell you what else needs to be fixed.
Resetting the ECU doesn't reset your V-afc setttings. It is a 'piggyback' to your ECU, it just tells it what to do..
ok slight change in direction but didn't want to start a new topic. Recently after changing the turbo over to a T03/4E and a few non-engine related mods, my brother's car pulled a code 92. It's been fine for the longest time and now this code pops up (EVAP something something). Now I don't know why it would just randomly come on now after having been running fine for so long, but my guess is because the boost is around 13 psi (or was at one point) now, the feedback in boost to the EVAP caused a misread. What I mean is, since the line from the EVAP to the manifold is suppose to see vaccuum, which makes the system work, but all of a sudden there's back pressure of 13 psi heading the wrong way in the EVAP, it set the sensor off. We reset the ECU and it's no biggy, just wondering why it came on.
