is the vtec controller worth it
I heard that if you get a vtec controller you can make your vtec kick in early but i heard that if you do that it lowers your top end speed. so is it only worth it in a 1/4 mile race and put it back to normal on a highway race?
i got the buddy club Vcon...vtec controller...its aight..i mean i got it dirt cheap...so...yah...but i heard the apex 1 was good bc..it adjusts everything from fuel to spark...mine is just power ground...and wired into the vtec on computer...but i try to keep it as close to stock bc i heard it puts alot of stress on the motor..but just look into..it ask other ppl...AND search
Actualy with the Vafc you're kind of limited, it doesn't adjust spark timing!
For the money you can have Hondata or Crome with a lot of features.
Adjusting Vtec will not lower your top end speed.

the short of it is no, a controller that just changes vtec engaugement point is stupid. You need something that can adjust fuel and spark as well to see any gains.

Damn, there must be an influx of VTEC controllers on Ebay because this is the 1000th time this has been asked this week.
VTEC is NOT Nitrous. VTEC is a way to internally adjust backpressure to allow greater output throughout the powerband of the motor, thats it. Swithching lobes and fully lifting all the valves (VTEC kick as you refer to it) at 2000 RPM does nothing but f*ck up the powerband.

^^^ exactly. VTEC is not an instant "xx" HP. Placement of vtec engagement is what yields you the HP. placing it low w/o a real dyno tune wont add that "xx" hp to your bottom end.
