Default crower camshaft vs skunk2 camshaft vs jun camshaft

planning to get a stage 2 camshaft but not sure of which one to get. does anyone know which one is better or more preferrable for all motor street/strip application? anyone compared it in performance or dynoed any of these? thanks.

Jun is more expensive than the others, but every dyno with their cams I've seen has produced great numbers, and great curve.

I was just reading a thread on the Skunk 2 Pro series and they seem to be great performers.

fo sho, i havent driven on any of those cams before but i got JUN's going into the hybrid. From what i have read, these cams make great power and still allow the motor to idle very well. I've never read about any complaints regarding them being unstreetable or having rough idles.

in my country they go crazy for the skunk2 pros, the crowers not so much....

I've also read/seen good results for the new Skunk2 Pro Series.. This is what I'll be getting for my build most likely. Defiantly a for them.. Same for Jun always a good Cam, if you can find 'em. But Jun only has one cam for the H22, no stages. (Unless they changed in the last 6 months..)

i am going with the pro 2's in the summer
juns are also great
crowers are only good for custom grinds ... might go for those
alot cheaper

from what i've heard the skunk2 has rough idle when stopping. it's not really good for traffic. is this true? i know it makes good power though.

depends on the setup (bore, stroke, compression...etc)

JUN might be better on one setup and the PRO2 might be better on another. You are supposed to build a performance motor around the cams considering they are what determine how much the valve opens and how long it remains open.

this is my setup up. h22. 89mm bore. 95mm stroke. 12.0:1 cr. port/polish. angle valve job. standard size valves. dual springs. tit retainers. port match IM.

skunk2 s2 or pro2 or jun camshaft? planning to get skunk2 sprockets.

imo, thats because most people could careless how an engine works and dont really care to learn. They just wanna go faster.

I like the price and performance of the skunk2 pro series. I'm probably going with those.

none of these are just "drop in" cams; the rest of the head & valvetrain needs similar upgrading. they both sell a package.
but the JUN has By far the best idle to high lobe lift out of the choices.

"Best" operates with one subject in relation to others which it being compared.

in terms of smoothness of the idle and low end characteristics relative to performance increase of the high lobe.

some may prefer an extreme lift and sacrifice it for a rough idle, thus, this would not apply.
