vtec controller problems
just installed field vtec controller on p13 93 vtec lude, was working fine - except was only operating off of rpm signal - no vtm wire connected - when i connected it CORRECTLY the thing threw check engine code 22- vtec pressure valve according to hondata, so i didn't connect the vtm wire to the ecu side and cap off the engine side, i just left the stock vtm wires connected - well, it was working fine and i've been driving w/ the unit off until i get it dyno tuned, and it threw a check engine light today for no reason. i checked the field sfc and it was off, wtf? i haven't touched anything, light hasn't been on, and now BLING. Now I have to emphasize that the unit IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY so i don't get a hundred responses saying "dude, check your wiring" I've rechecked it about ten times and even resoldered the wires a second time and re-shrunk them, i've been through every possible diagram and on every web board asking about the vtm wire, and have gotten **** for responses. i'm starting to think it is the unit itself, but if it is in the "off" position it shouldn't effect ****. i'll check the old chilton manual and take a look at the vtec pressure valve/vtec oil pressure switch - any help appreciated
how about this **** - it was really low on gas, i got 1/2 tank of 93 - and light didn't come back - WTF? i went and ripped on it and still no check engine light. my car is posessed by satan himself.
