Field Vtec controller problems
Recently installed a field vtec controller CORRECTLY. Have speed hooked up, rpm signal, vtec engagement, power, ground, map, all works and no check engine light, but no vtm connection (green/white wire) when vtm is connected car runs crappy and my engine throws code 22 - vtec oil pressure signal, but car runs fine w/o vtm connected (vtm to ecu side, engine side blocked off) I leave the stock vtm wires connected (d6 on p13 ecu) I've checked my wiring a hundred friggin times. When driving w/o sfc on car runs fine. When sfc is on, here's the trick- as long as I don't float into vtec (normally needs oil pressure to activate lift) the check engine light won't come on. If I linger @ 5000rpm's or whatever vtec is set at THE FIELD UNIT RELIES STRICTLY ON RPM SIGNAL TO ACTIVATE VTEC, it bounces in and out of lift and I get a check engine light w/ 3,12,21,and 22. Those are map, vtec pressure, vtec solenoid, and EGR codes according to hondata. I think the unit itself is junk, as I am becoming a mechanic working on this damn thing. Can someone w/ some knowledge please help me out. thanks
I know on the Apexi V-AFC, you do not connect the VTM wire at all... I'm not really familiar with the Field unit, though.
Try this page on good old VTEC.net to doublecheck your wiring:

yeah, that's the 5th gen obdII schematic. My p13 doesn't like it when you disconect the stock vtm lines. I think the unit itself is supposed to trick the ecu, but it's defective, cause it throws the vtec pressure light when hooked up correctly.
hi my car keeps on stalling at stop or neutral for the last 3 weeks..tried everything from fuel pump to throttle body to ignition..the last time before this happend is when i installed a vtec controller...can a vtec controller cause the car to stall?
