Tranny Problem??
Hey whats up, I'm gonna get straight to the point. Well I swapped my motor a few months ago from a h23a to JDM f22b DOHC. And lately my gears in the tranny have been grinding from 2nd to 3rd. I know its the syncros and the clutch is basically new. Question is if I got the GM snycro mesh fluid would that eliminate the grinding noise as a tempoary solution? And what do I have to do to put this fluid in, drain tranny etc...I remember seeing a post a while back showing where you drain the fluid and replace it but, that was for a h22 I think, is that same with the JDM f22b?
yeah i have the 2nd to 3rd grind when shifting at redline quickly, i too am switching to gm syncro mesh and hope it will provide a temporary solution. you can drain the tranny the same as the h22, its simple amd strait forward. just get the car up in the air get a good light and look for the drain plug on the tranny. then there is also a filler hole up about half way , unscrew that and use a hose and funnel to fill the tranny until oil starts to come out of the hole you are filling with.
p.s what did you do with you h23?
p.s what did you do with you h23?
If you've got new tranny synchros then its reccomended that you at give the tranny a thousand miles to break in before you start beating on it or else it wont last too long.
Hey thanks for the info. I still have the engine, but it spun a bearing thats why I swapped. I'll sell it to you for a cheap price, need room in my garage.
