if the tranny grinds, its probably the synchros going out.
might be a little pricey if you dont do it yourself

It can be fixable. Try changing your tranny fluid first.

You should do the cheap/easy things first. Did you check your tranny fluid level? maybe u just need tranny fluid. Bleed your clutch. How old is your clutch? Try even changing your tranny fluid, Ive seen that cure problems.
If it keeps grinding after that , u have bad synchros. That will cost u, unless u have a SOHC. What motor do u have?
