throwing code 4-8 on ABS

throwing code 4-8 on ABS
i took the code and the ABS light flashed 4 then 8. I researched it and it was the LR wheel sensor, so i pull it apart and check the sensor and i couldnt see if it was torn any where. how do i know or how can i check to see if the sensor is bad.
