Default tachometer probs

My tach is like 1000 rpms off and just does what ever it wants most of the time. I changed the cluster then this happend. NO wires were touched. Should I just change the cluster again?

Just making sure so I dont screw you Andy

i would double check that there were no corrotion on the pins of the cluster, and make sure there are no messed up wires, did you do an EL swap or what? and why

no I just changed the cluster from a vtec one to an si one because of the h23 vtec swap. I wasnt planning on revving it thathigh so I figured why not. I thouroughly inspected it and there is no defects on it or the wires since my car is a 95.

I just think its the cluster and want to be sure before I spend any more money

That's totally cool, man. I just want to resolve this issue so we are both satisfied. Hopefully, someone can help us. If not, we will just buy another one.

andy is this one of you old clusters, when was the last time you saw it working..

if the pins arn't corroded then there is probably soemthing wrong inside the gauge....
