You probably shouldn't do it if you don't know what a starter looks like. I'm not trying to be being mean, just saying. You could mess up other things and then have bigger problems....

Re: solenoid? (Hawkze_2.3)
have you ever changed your oil? or flushed your radiator.. just like hawk said, you might not want to try if you don't know what to look for.

if you had to jump it to start it, the problem is not the starter, its the charging system or the battery
you dont sound like you know enough about working on your car in order to be hitting random underhood objects.....

hey bb4ever I had this happen to me when I had my 4th gen. This is what happened to me. I bought a brand new optima red top for my car and the next day when I went to start it, it wouldn't start. everything turned on but I didn't get a click nothing. so I took the starter out. and tested the solenoid and sure enough it wasn't working.
I just say it might be his starter cause he say's his battery is good. and it seems like everything is lighting up when he puts his key in. I wonder if he hears his starter clicking or anything. or perhaps does he even hear his fuel pump priming.

yes but if it started for him the other day by just jumping it, the problem was not the solenoid, it was a dead battery
unless he means clutch starting it, not jumping the battery.....who knows this guy has no idea what he is talking about......
