Default Shaking Problem

Can bad ball joints cause the car to start to shake when speed is increasing? Or what about the front sway bar bushings? I noticed this yesterday when i was on the expressway and had to get on a lil quicker than usual, i dropped the car into 3rd and started speeing up, and the front of the car started to vibrate and shake. I got worried so i slowed down and it went away. This was before i hit vtec or really got ont he car that much. Maybe bad motor mounts as well?

Was this in a specific speed range? If it is, it might be your tires are out of balance. Then again, there could be other stuff.

nah it wasnt a certain speed range- just got new rims/tires that were balanced before they were put on so its not that. A better example
If im driving like 20mph and floor it, itll start shaking at like 25mph and continue to seem to get worse the faster i go. If im driving 45mph and i floor it, same thing occurs.

Hmmm . . . start checking the simple stuff first. Check you lug nuts for looseness, then move inboard and check the axles and various joints in the suspension.

I think one of your motor mounts is busted. My old Accord did the same thing after I hit a large bump in the road. Everytime I would try to accelerate quickly, it would shake vigorously.

thanx for the quick responses guys even if its late *its like 3am here*. Im going to be replacing my axles and re-torque all the bolts down there to factory specs. Any idea where i can get those specs? Im pretty sure the wheels aren't loose- could be an alignment issue as well. probably go on friday to be sure.

btw- can you visually tell if one of the motor mounts is "broken" or could it be loose...or what

I recently had shaking while accelerating after 60mph. I could tell it was comming from the drivers side. After flipping the tires i still had the shaking. I took apart my inboard joint and noticed it wasnt OEM bearings. I had a spare joint with bearings laying around and i put the OEM joint with the bearings in. The shaking has disapeared. You could have a bad driveshaft.
