Default c v joint causing problem?

my lude shakes really bad, (feels like a tire extremely out of balance) but it doesn't do it all the time or at any certain speed. the time it shakes the worst is when i accelerate uphill, or any time that the car is accelerating and under the most strain to pull the car. it does it at any speed and in any gear. the only common factor is the load on the car from acceleration. sometimes when i turn to the right the shaking goes away. this starting happening about 6 months ago, and after a couple weeks it went away and it just started doing it again a couple weeks ago. i've checked the suspension for loose/missing bolts and i've balanced/rotated the tires. i have a feeling it may be the c v joint. what do you think? and would i be better off to get a performance c/v joint and intermediate shaft? thanks

Definitely a possibility. Also, check your motor mounts. Anybody else have any comments?

Sounds just like my symptoms when my inner cv axle went bad.

You don't need to get aftermarket cv axles. Just go to carquest ( if you have them in your area) and get a replacement axle. Should be about 50-60 per axle.

You shouldn't need aftermarket axles unless you are putting out around 300 whp, IIRC.

i had the same problem. it only happens during acceleration. my problems where the inner board joint. one the roller inside them was crack (my fault) and all the pin bearings were falling out. i've tryed to get a replacement too. but they didnt have any, so i just took off the axel and took it to get it replaced. it came out to be about 37 dollars. hope this help

make sure you bring more than $100 cause you have to pay a core charge. When you take back your old cv axle they give you it back. Don't drive on it though, my friends Civic had one explode on him and the wheel turned around and locked up under his fender causing him to nail a curb ruining 2 of his wheels.

You also might want to consider changing both of them while your at it.

EXACT problem I had.

I also recommend replacing both axles at the same time.
