Setting up EGR with Euro-R/Skunk IMs?
Does anyone here have experience with either? I'm pondering an aftermarket IM, but I'd prefer to keep EGR around for when it's needed.
With the Euro-R IM, from what I've read it will work with the EGR bits already in place, but it needs a plate + gasket. Is it realistic to come by a EGR plate without flying to Japan, or is custom fabbing possible? Are there any other hiccups I should know about it?
I know the Skunk manifold was traditionally a "no EGR" setup, but now Skunk's website lists the manifold as coming with an "EGR mount kit", and some local performance shop mentioned it to me when they were trying to sell me on it. Has anyone had experience with the kit, what is it, does it work, etc, etc? I'll probably email Skunk, but end user reports are probably more useful than what the company selling it will say
I havn't made any decisions yet, but some knowledge on the EGR issue would probably be helpful in making one.

When would that be? I'd just leave it off, and if you don't like looking at a CEL then put in a P28 ECU.

I run a P28 as-is, so I can understand why this thread might seem a bit silly.
But I like the idea of the car being able to run the stock OBD2 ECU and to pass e-test without hassles. Right now it should be able to do both without issue, after turning down the fuel pressure a bit.
I guess I'm just trying to hedge my bets. Maybe one day I will depart from a 10:1 87x90.7 engine , and I'll have to start worrying about having a car that is really no longer factory, but until then if I don't have to mess up stock ECU compatibility with an IM change, I don't want to.
