lol i have never heard anyone call that a wai before (warm air intake??)

either way, if you wanted, you could stick the v-stack on the end of a CAI down in the fender.....if you could get that filter to fit down there....i suppose it would...

but, if the velocity stack is doing its job (and all evidence shows that it seems to be) it is creating more air velocity than just an open pipe, and since the only real benefit of having a full CAI is the length of the pipe, the advantages are nullified by the stack....what is 3 more inches of piping gonna matter....plus thats another bend, which is something to be considered...

just remember, the CAI outperformed the SRI (short ram) up top because it made more air velocity, but with the stack you get the best of both worlds, you can run a shorter pipe for better response down low, and then up top the stack creates that velocity you thirst for....

if you're worried about intake air temps go ahead, but it being in the corner of the engine bay over there isolates it from heat pretty well anyway, you could make a heat shield outta some sheet metal if you wanted...

for overall performance and stuff. Would you say the 90 dollars you roughly spent was worth it? or worth it in the long run?

hehe yes warm air intake it is... that's how we call it over here

But I still have an ebay intake pipe lying in the garage, so maybe I'll give it a try

Maybe a strange question, but the kind of intake I still have lying over here is like this one:

How will the bigger piping size at the end affect the flow?

i thought you wanted to go the other way smaller piping at the end so it rams the air in?...concept from the V2

Well I think I'm going for a straight tube without size differences... but this one came on the car when I bought it and is lying in the garage

it would certainly aid in air delivery, but since the turbo already creates such a great pressure difference, velocity isn't much of a problem.....

i'm no bryan pendleton here, but what i can assume about that chamber at the end is that it will slow down the air bigtime, if it is shoved through a small pipe and suddenly flows into that huge chamber, its gonna slow down bigtime....

i suppose the thought behind that chamber is throttle response though.....all that air sitting in there, then you goose it and the engine can get more air right when you hit the throttle.....which is a lot like the concept behind the j's racing design....which ended up sucking....

i would go with just a traditional 3" tube....

so as far as i can tell this bpi flow stack is supposed to increase the air velocity through the intake for short rams... will this thing help a cai? or would it even fit down in the fender?

so does this thing help if you have a cool air intake?

Received the stack today... product looks very solid and good. Next up: getting the filter and a new pipe.

i find it funny how 98 vtec has a fairly stripped engine bay (no a/c, power steering, etc) but he still has cruise control

i <3 CC

i said the same thing about AC until it broke

Cruise will be the last luxury accessory to be removed. And that will be when the whole car is stripped

The cruise control only weighs a couple pounds anyway, not like AC.

for 98vtec, bb4ever, and whoever else has this setup:

do you guys have the filter suspended in the air or is it resting on the chasis?

would it make a difference if its not suspended?
