prelude issues
Hey all. Need lil help. I was just driving to meet date at movies about an hour ago and pulled up to a light and car just died and idled funny. It was driving fine before that. I started it back up but it wud idle weird and when i put the clutch and hit throttle it would backfire and miss and not really run and die. I had to rev it to like 4000 and barely let clutch out to get it to go and limp home. ANy ideas what this is? I have an msd fuel pump running with stock pump since i was getting ready to turbo it. Ignition, fuel unjectotrs, timming?? please help
have not installed the turbo yet.Its going to be run by and FMU which is also installed .I was installing everything i can before i do the actual turbo but being my daily driver for now i was lil chiken to do it just yet. Havent had any problems with the mods already done on the car.
nope. stock ignition. And the FMU isnt seeing any boost since the turbo is not hooked up yet. I was tryin to hook everything I could before the car was down for the trubo install. Im leaning towards maybe the ignition. Havent checked spark yet. This morning I tried to crank it but right off it started to sputter but then nothing it wont crank. Fuel pumps are both working b/c I can hear them.ANy thoughts? Of course Im going to add more gas in case the gauge went out and do the obvious things first. I also checked to see if theres spark and thats good. any ideas? MY first honda. Doesnt seem like allmy GMs

put the turbo on and tune the car or remove it all.</TD></TR></TABLE>
exactly, since you are adding a lot of fuel, it seems kinda obvious to me why the car is backfiring, anyone who saw my turbo lude in action saw the cool light show it made b/c of all the extra fuel

but the FMU isnt adding any extra fuel since there is no boost i thought. Yes I do have larger injectors (DSM blue top 450's ) but havent put them on since i need a e manage to use them. Iwas just gonna use the FMU right now. Oh and I fixed the problem. I guess I had some kinda weird vapor lock which I tried to relieve by opening the gas cap but I disconnected the lines to the FMU and regulator spayed sum fluid in TB started it and connect everything back up and off I went

Sounds like a burned valve or shitty rings to me. Compression check is in order. If you have no compression in a certain cylinder do a wet test to see if its the rings. If you have low compression and the rings are good you have a bad valve.
