When you guys first turbocharged your cars, did it pull hard? Or did you have to do some tunning before you actually felt satisfied? I know you have to tune it, but, shouldn't it be stronger?

I feel like my car feels a little stronger if not the same as N/A...any help/suggestions?

Thank you!

oh by the way....the fuel and ignition stuff i have for my setup is an inline fuel pump, Vortech FMU 12:1, and a MSD 6BTM set at .50

Is your prelude black? Lowered down on stock wheels? Thats the only boosted prelude I've seen around here.

I got that same feeling as you. Everyone else that rode in my car said it was definitely faster though. So my conclusion is that I just have a speed insensitivity issue. The only way to cure this, is to be ridiculously faster than you thought you were going to need.

But that aside, did you dyno your car? Is your clutch stock?

Thanks for the reply....

my turbo is a T3/T04B .63 Super V Stage 3 Wheel 54.....Its a drag kit for my H22 and the turbo is rated at 450hp. My fuel setup is a Vortech FMU 12:1, Inline Fuel Pump, and stock H22 injectors (320cc).... I also have a BTM set at .45-.5 degrees of retard per PSI.

I dont konw why but it doesnt pull hard. I know all the hardware is installed correctly. My compression test yeilded pretty good numbers.....+15/-15 per cylinder......

It was running 7-8psi. Didn't pull hard so I boosted 9-10psi and still felt the same. My autometer A/F gauge is all the way green and my apexi turbo timer is 10:1 A/F

no its not a stock clutch...ACT Heavy Duty...it feels like nothing compared to my nitrous setup of 70 shot that i used to have. and everyone that drove my car says it feels kind of the same..... Here is a story....I raced my cousin's GSR on the freeway. NA I can pull about 1.5 cars....Now i'm boosted at 7psi and I can only pull the same about 1.5 cars.....

My prelude is a greenish blue with Wings west RS kit.

No i havent dynoed it yet

10:1 a/f a bit too rich? try leaning it out a bit, your probably drowning your engine...

Yeah, but how accurate is the APEXi Turbo Timer at reading A/F? I think it does need more tuning.

does it really rob that much power if its too rich? I mean robbing the power to the extent of it being similar to NA?

Thanks

Actually yes, i'm being robbed of about 40whp rite now because i'm runing way to rich (10.0:1+) runing too rich has the same effect as runing to lean (power wise)....your basically flooding your engine..

check all of your connections, something may be loose. You should feel a big difference esp at 10psi........it may also be your air/fuel ratio...10:1 is like dumping fuel via hose

everything seems goood.....at idle my vacuum reads 22 inch steady.....when i boost it reads 8 psi steady.....but not really any power....

although it makes a throtty sound when boost kicks in.....kind of like a loud exhaust leak......also i dont know if its the filter or what but when i had rev the throttle there is a little poping noise from the turbine.

again...running rich....try leaning out, and you won't back fire...also check your spark plugs...they're probably black as constipated ****! What fuel solution are you using?

I am using Denzo 2 step colder...I believe Denzo 26.....they are gapped at .034 I checked them and they looked fine. Kind of cocoa colored with some black carbon build up on the first 2-3 threads....

I am using 92 Octane always That is the highest here

try only retarding .25 per psi w/ the btm. Also is your car holding boost fine? you might have to large of a turbo which at onl;y 7psi is not in it's effective range...just a thought...

I think so too....i think 12-14psi. Its a T3T04B Super V1/V2.....25 per PSI even when you go higher boost? or just up to 8psi and above that is .45
