Thanks for reading. I have to pull my cylinder head from a 97 Base, to do valve work. To be honest, I'm new to this but I think I can do this cuz I have a helms manual and some good tools. The question which I do have is, can I use an impact wrench to remove the head bolts? Also after removing the head bolts do I just lift the cylinder head off or do I have to pry on it? Finally, is it better to just leave the Intake manifold on?
Thanks again.

you are better off using a breaker bar to loosen up the bolts. Just break them loose one at a time and loosen each one a little at a time to minimize the chances of warping the head.
