Default Overheating question

My h22 has been getting hot lately but only during idle. The temp is fine when i am driving. I only have one fan because i got rid of the other one when i removed the a/c. I was told it was alright. I don't think that has anything to do with it because it only had 1 fan for over a year and the problem just started happening now. What else would be causing it to overheat. I'm doing a coolant flush and replacing the thermostat today.

The fan does turn on sometimes but today when i went to go change the coolant i saw that it was kind of low and also that my radiator looks like this. It is 5 years old. Time for a new one?

Yeah, I would say it is probably time for a new radiator. That thing looks like crap! No wonder you're overheating!

its on the thermostat housing, fill up the coolant with the bleeder valve open until it flow out, shut it, then start the car and bleed the air out, make sure your heat is on full blast during the whole process.

Yup, the bleed screw on the Thermostat housing. You can also remove the radiator cap and let the car idle which will disperse air bubbles.

Car doesn't need to be running, just pour coolant til a steady stream comes out of the bleeder screw.

I would replace your fan also and check your wiring to the fan and such, wires may be corroded...also look for cracked or frayed coolant lines...
