Default temperature question

question people, I have a 92 civic. The problem is my temp.guage is going up a bit but not all the way from the red line,the fan turns on then the guage will be back to its normal position. after 30 sec. it will go up again,then the fan will go on in 60 sec. help me pls.

Is this happening at idle or driving?

Measure you fluid temps to see when your fan switch is coming on to make sure its at 195F and not any higher.

possibly a bad fan switch or thermostat. Test them

that happened with mine, but my car also wouldn't heat up very much at all. i changed the thermostat and it took care of it completely.

Could an old/clogged/ never flushed radiator start causing that kind of symptoms?

I changed the thermostat but same thing,the temp guage still go up a bit, but when the fan go it go back to normal. is it the fan switch? the fan switch work every 2 mins.

It might not be boiling or steaming but what is the actual temperature?
