Default FMU install

I just installed the fmax kit. I just received my FMU, and the fuel pump is on the way. I was wondering if I can go ahead and install the fmu or if i have to wait for the fuel pump(inline) to install it. THanks.

the blue vortech fmu, with a 12;1 ratio. Looks like a circle with a square mounting bracket.

yeah... um, why do you have one of those if you bought the F-Max kit, they use a MF2 piggyback fuel management

Well I bought the kit used. I asked the guy about his set up. He said the mf2 wasn't working right in his car. He didn't use it and ghetto rigged a better fuel pump that he had laying around his shop for a civic. I also didn't like the idea of adding more fuel with the 2 440's the fmax kit came with. Eventually after i get some pistons, and lower the compression i am going to put a walbro intank fuel pump in. Since I am only running 6psi i didn't want to run too rich with the intank. Do you think the mf2 is better than the current route i am going. I already have the fmu and the holley inline is on the way. I'm pretty new to the whole turbo scene. Any help you give me is greatly appreciated.

first off, don't use an inline, second, don't use an inline. oh, and i forgot, don't use an inline. the FMU will be OK, and you can goahead and install it without the turbo if you want, b/c those things a boost dependent, and won't alter your fuel pressure until they read boost

The turbo is already installed. Thats why i was asking if it was ok to install the fmu. Why should i not use the inline? Some people tell me to use it and others tell me not to. I am afraid to use the intank because i don't want to run too rich. If you think that is the better idea, thats cool. I know the fmu works with boost, but i wasn't completely sure how it does and if was ok to run without either an inline, or a intank.

you won't run to rich, you fuel pump does not regualte your fuel pressure, your FMU and FPR do.... but it will be ok to install the FMU without the pump. i hope you haven't been driving the car with a turbo but without the FMU

man that is the stupidest thing u have ever said..
u HAVE TO RUN THE INLINE.. i have my inline pump on a swich and if i dont turn it on i run out of fuel at 4 psi. it bucks like crazy
the stock intank fuel pump cant provide enough pressure to supply the 12:1 fmu. at 7psi heres bascily the break down..

stock fuel pressure say 45ish
7 psi boost * 12 (12 beging 12:1 a/f ratio)
7*12=84
84+45(base fuel pressure)=129
129 would be your fuel pressure in your fuel rail.. no way a stock fuel pump can take that.

I am going to buy an intank after i build the motor a little and can push more boost. This is only temporary so i have enough fuel for 6 psi. Wouldn't that be ok? What is the disadvantage of the inline anyways? I have been told not to use it, but nobody has told me why yet. Thanks for all the input everybody.
