Default Getting rid of the charcoal canister and pcv system?

I have always hooked up the pcv system, but I was wondering what would happen if I just didnt hook up the pcv system and ran the charcoal canister to the atmosphere...

nothing happens if you do that... you might as well just ditch the whole system. it just vents gasoline fumes to the atmosphere and can kill some o3. the best thing to do is to plug the line going out of the tank and then in the even that the tank were to ever vapor lock, just unscrew the fill cap and bleed the pressure.
