engine keeps cutting off
ok so i was driving around on friday going to get gas and go to the bank. went to amaco and filled it up with 91 octane (i believe). after getting gas and going to the bank i was on my way home and the car randomly shut off after i came to a stop. no sputtering or anything out of the ordinary, it just acted as if someone just cut the ignition off. so i went to fire it back up and it started fine. i went home and when i pulled infront of my house, it did the same thing again. so i ran inside for a minute, called a friend and asked him to take a look at it. i drove it up to his house and we didnt have any problems while it was there. he thought it might of been something with my ignition switch, but wasnt 100% sure. so i drove home and didnt have any problems on the way home or the entire weekend for that matter. so i go to leave my house today, get down the road going to 7-11 and it does it again when i come to a stop. anyone else ever have problems like this or know what could be causing this? any help would be appreciated. thanks guys
edit: by the way, this motor was just dropped in my car. 92-95 JDM h22 long block from hmotorsonline. besides the car shutting off, the motor is just fine

There is a site where you can punch in your vin# to see if your car is affected. Or just bring it to the dealership and tell them about it.

go to http://www.hondacars.com at the bottom there is a link for all recalls (or you can search recalls), click it and it will take you to a site that you can plug in your VIN and it will tell you every recall that has been done to your car. (ex: Ball joint and ignition were the 2 that were in my profile).

Sound like this? If it's an idle problem, it's very common.

Go start your car then jiggle the keys and see if it dies. Mine started dieing and it was the wiring portion of the ignition switch. It was basically killing all the power to my ignition system. The service techs said it was pretty common .. mines a 92 with 142k on it.
I was having the same thing happen at lights and stop signs and such. The culprit was in intermittently faulty relay for the fuel pump gone bad. Ever since it was replaced iv'e had no problems with cutouts.
ok well now my RPM tach and speedometer are bouncing all over the place. would a faulty ignition switch also cause this? it also does it randomly... i drove the car all day today and it drove fine.. then i go to drive it tonight and it starts acting up. like i said before, i drove it all weekend without a problem and then monday it starts acting up again. hopefully on tuesday when the ignition switch gets replaced, this will go away
....hopefully its just the ignition switch
edit: also my idle seems to be dipping a little bit (when the damn thing doesnt die)

Same thing is currently happening to me with my jdm h22 accord.I tends to happen only when I have the a/c on and the rpm's drop to 200 and then the car shut down.Almost like the a/c is sucking in too much power or something.By the way I got new spark plugs and it's still acting up.
if you have a spare key use that one it worked for me also if you have a **** load of key chains on your key ring take them off . That will srew up the ingnition to.
