code 9, cyp sensor or distributor
Well I just finished with a code 22 and finally figured that all out, and now I am throwing a code 9. #1 cylinder position (cyl sensor).
I pulled the cap off of the rotor and there is red dust in the cap, so I am wondering if it could just be the sensor of if it is most likely the whole distributor? The distributor makes more noise than usuall and am thinking thats what it is.
Thanks
Mike

Take it apart and see if there is red crap on the inside? I got that code when it was my igniter, but I had to get a whole new distributor because everything was corroded inside.
Yeah I took the cap off and there is red dust all on the cap and on the rotor and black plastic cover behind the rotor. So do you think I need a new distributor?

well i had the same prob about month ago, and i opend her up and cleaned out the black stuff and what not but no dice. The distributors on these go alot from the 40 peeps ive talked to they all say the same thing about the distrib just burnin out. i went to Distributor King on the internet they have the best prices for the full distribtors, brand new ( nice warranty too). But id bet you need a new one if shes all cleand out im like 99% sure. The installation in cake as well.
Good luck!

PS: the cyp sensor is part of the actuall distributor

Yeah I think I am just gonna go through with buying a new distributor. I hope that is the problem though. Because that would suck if it wasn't.
Thanks again.
