hey, my battery is DeaD! i need help finding a light weight one. i need to pick one up in about a week or two. i want one that is light weight, very reliable, and i guess just a good one lol. i heard something about a hawk brand or something like that but not sure really. cna you guys help me out here or give me a pointer. thanks.
no such thing as a light weight battery... they are all going to be roughly the same weight (a bit lighter if they are a bit less powerful).
if you want something extremely reliable and long lasting, get an optima battery, but those are about 2 to 3 times more expensive than a regular wet battery.
everything else out there is more or less the same, regardless of what your friend heard...

Not the case at all - something like an Odyssey PC-680 saves you about 25 pounds compared to the stock one. They're also quite a bit smaller, which can free up space for other things . . . You can find 'em on eBay for about $70 shipped.
Of course, it's not gonna be as ballsy as a big 40 pound yellow-top or something, but it'll start the car no problem, and last several years in a daily driver.

How can anything be rebadged as anything? I dunno, it happens all the time - like the Spoon Iridium sparkplugs - rebadged NGK Iridiums that sell for $100+ instead of $35.
But the battery looks pretty similar . . .
Even if it is different, I can't see it outperforming anything else of comparable size & weight. And for $320, no thanks.
