Another engine down the tubes
The STOCK crank pulley acts as a harmonic balancer also.ever notice the thick rubber ring inside the pulley itself?Thats there to help absorb harmonics from the crank.
yeah thats basically what his dad said...and now you have confirmed it
THANKS
Now I all I need to do is get the oil issue diagnosed...I'm pretty much counting on dropping $2G's on at least a partial 'rebuilt'
It sucks cause I Could get a whole JDM "low mileage" COMPLETE engine swap for $2G's and have all kind of extra replacement parts but then S&H will prob be like $500 + Labor....oh well.

I always thought it was in '97 when they switched to the H22A4, but I just looked up the crankshafts and there are actually 3 different part #'s. One covers '93, one covers '94-'97, and one covers '98+. Unfortunately the parts catalog doesnt have any specs for them.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I meant the journals on the block. Not the crank itself.
And the black shock looking thing mounted in front of the radiator support on the 5th Gens. Isn't that a vibration minimizing thingamajig?

I think that doohicky your talkin about is one of the motor mounts. And it was 98 and up when the main crank journals got bigger. The thrust washers from 93-97 are different from 98 and up.
