Re: 4th gen Lude. Digi Fuel and Temp Gauge. Problem.
I don't have a video but I traced the wires from the after market alarm system that was installed from the pervious owner. It ended up terminating in the middle of an oem wire (forgot what it ran to). Since then nothing has went bad. I believe this problem could also be caused by being connected to the ignition system incorrectly. I'll drop the link if I can find it.
Re: 4th gen Lude. Digi Fuel and Temp Gauge. Problem.
I have repaired a few of these but there is a power supply made by alps that burns out.
It creates AC voltage and -8VDC to bias the VFD display.
What I have begun to develop a modern replacement This is the proto
This is going to be based on an ESP 32 processor. There will be a WEB interface to set up and scale.
looking at adding a few bells and whistle. I have to build at least 10 to make it cost effective.

those are AWESOME. I was able to get mine fixed, but I’m not stopping either. I’d be super interested in being apart of this though, especially with the potential for bells and whistles. There’s so much unused space. I almost thought about doing the projector idea to the wide, sleek dash.

For the record these are the 3 capacitors he is referring to. Like others have stated above, I am NOT going to the junkyard only to find the same problem.
C1 is 220mf and 25v
C2 is 22mf and 25v
C7 is 330mf and 10v
I know a lot of guys say, 'just put in a new capacitor'. Frankly, just finding the correct capacitor is 1/2 the battle. They aren't at Safeway or Target!
Unfortunately, the capacitors on the green board have been changed. E. Can you tell me the value of all of the green motherboard? C1 c2 c3.... Thank you very much

Please don't give up on this project. I would love to see this finished!

Re: 4th gen Lude. Digi Fuel and Temp Gauge. Problem.
im interested in this thread, i have an issue with the speedo needle going out. My car is in storage but it would be great to find a replacement for all the EL dash as i know the rest will fail over time
