Besides the whole lack of gear thing, I love how they all replaced the turn signals and rear ligths with tiny aftermarket pieces. Looks tight BRAH!

are you referring to the fender eliminators and the flushmount turn signals? again, not all squids to that sort of thing

If its 100 deg out and I'm just going to run to the store, 3miles away at 25mph I usually dont gear up (just helmet, gloves, boots). I dont ride like an asshat when i'm 'exposed' either.

I'm def. not one of the gear *****, but I do have problems with people getting rid of turn signals or making them so small that they are useless. Hey, if you want to get rid of turn signals, use your hands! I'll be able to see that better then some pea sized indicator that's part of the taillight LED cluster.

In terms of gear, I'm at the same level as RJ. For commuting to class in the summer, I wear a shirt. I used to wear shorts too, but I'm straying away from that nowadays.

It's definately more common than everyone on the /26 makes it out to be. I personally ride the bike to campus everyday and it is literally one stoplight, 2 stop signs and about 2 miles of cutting through back neighborhoods. I will ALWAYS wear at bear minimum my helmet and gloves. The fastest I can possibly go is 25 mph. When the temp is below 80 degrees I'll wear the jacket as well. Now when its time for highways or spirited riding its full gear for me. Yes it may be squidly not to gear up totally for a 5 min. drive to campus but when it takes longer to put on/take off all the gear than the trip actually takes its one time where I'll take my chances.

I live at least 10-15 minutes from anything.....including the gas station. I live on the lake. I usually wear my gear to go anywhere due to the fact that I blast my road. There are like 4 100 degree turns and a bunch of small cambered sweepers on my road. So I usually wear gear......unless I am putting to the gas station to get a slushie. I sometimes get a hankering and hop on the bike wearing whatever I have on and throw a helmet on.......bleh

None of my bikes have blinkers, I find that people pay more attention to hand signals. I usually don't wear jeans on the way to work. I wear my work pants, they are thin flame/chemical retardant cotton.

I usually cruise around the beach in shorts when I go to the beach house. The island is only like three miles long and the speed limit is 15mph. I don't even wear a helmet most of the time. SC law is that it is up to the riders discression over the age of 21.

I have even been known to ride to the mall or to a resturaunt without a helmet. If it is only a couple miles away and speed limits max of 35mph. My rule of thumb is, if I am going fast enough to loose a hat off of my head, then the helmet is going on.

I don't ever commute on the daytona, so I can't comment on gear for that occasion. but every time I swing a leg over it, I have on at the least, leather jacket, gauntlets, boots, spine protector, and ether one of my arai's or shoei's...

leather pants? not all the time, but I still wear knee gaurds..I don't care if I'm going 100 feet, or 5 miles, some retard could hit me at any point.

rather have it and not need it, then need it, and not have it.
