A priest/minister/rabbi/man of faith comes out and blesses your bike, to ensure that God's watching over it (or something like that).

My father's been to many in the past, every bike he's owned has been blessed and he's not even a very religious man.

I honestly dont care if you wear your gear or not, you do what you want. But i do think its a little narrow minded to think that stunters are the cause for high insurance premiums. 90% of the crashes i see posted in here, are just like the taco bell guy with his foot in the ceiling. He was unable to control the bike in a high speed turn on a highway, he wasnt doing 5mph circle wheelies in the parking lot.

Out of 100 times there is an accident with someone not wearing gear, how many times does that affect someone else besides the family? So how the expletive cares what they wear?

Also, someone posted earlier that stunters give us a bad name, or that cops bug us because of stunters..... hahahaha..what word do you live in. I know personally cops would rather see you and your e-web buddies in an abandon parking lot, than going 500mph on blind corners of public streets....thats when your risking others lives.

But your probably right, if you can convince at least half of the mindless drones on the internet that your way is the right way, then youve already won.

We're not talking about parking lot stunters. We are talking about the retards that do it on crowded highways and residential neighborhoods. And yes, higher percentages of serious injury resulting from a lack of proper riding gear DOES raise insurance premiums. Unfortunately, this problem is most pronounced among the Harley riders. I guess its hard for a dentist to look tough on his chopper with a helmet on

 

Yeah, your right, my point was that singeing out "stunters" to use as an excuse for insurance premiums or harrasment is off par.

I personally dont mind the harley riders that are normal people, as long as they dont try to act like gear heads.....whether they ride for fun, or if they ride because they think it makes them look cool....they are probably happy doing it...so to them.

 

I have some good friends that are Harley riders. It still irritates me that most of them wont wear helmets for pretty much purely aesthetic reasons. Even after friends of mine and theirs go down hard. Hell, I'd still wear gear if the law required it to be bright pink. Even if looks are really important to you, there are times when it should take a back seat to other things /rant
