04 CBR1000rr. Im having problems redlining and taking off. Would timing be the answer. I just revived this bike like eight months ago putting it back together since i crashed it. i havnt changed the spark plugs yet also.

Once i start the bike and rev all the way it will red line once then ill try it again and it wont do it any more and just boggs out. Yesterday i took it for a ride about 7 miles and stored it away for five hours then i took it out and it was having a hard time starting like misfire and it cranked a lot before it turned over. so please help me>>

 

Do you have a power commander? Check plugs and battery also.

 

Why are you redlining the bike randomly anyways?

 

Nope! no power commander all stock. does the servo motor has anything to do with it??? I noticed the pipes use to have a servo but the previous owner weld the pipe valve so it stays open all the time. I also have no clamp on the mid pipe where it connects to the stock exhuast.

I will take it next week when i have money. Probably get the spark plugs changed out and reset the timing. if that doesnt do it, ill be damned and i 'll sell it..

 

to see if the bike can push to 5000 rpms. which it doesnt after ten min of riding then it decreases to 3 thou and lower than that by the min. Its hard to ride it and i dont wanna have to call a tow cuz it wont go more than 2000 rpms at 15 mph.
