Well mine is in. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Well actually they are delivering it to me. Now all I need is to get past the fact that I've never even sat on a motorcycle before and I'll be alright

What size are the fork tubes? Woodcraft already makes any size you want down to 29mm

they are listed as 37mm, Im not sure if its the size issue, as much as it is where to install them. With my bike, I think the front end is actually a bit lower than stock in order to fit clip ons

Riding is fun as hell. This bike makes learning very easy. Since it doesn't have a shitload of power it doesn't have a tendency to take off on you if you accidentally give it too much gas. I've just been riding around my neighborhood because there are like 30mph gusts today and I don't want to venture out on to real roads yet with it this windy.

I already had my first close call when some fat ***** who was eating while she was driving didn't see me and turned right out in front of me and almost hit me. I'm kind of glad it happened though because it already has me driving very defensively.

Nice bike man. During the day always ride with your brights on. Hopefully that can help out a little more with people spotting you.

There isn't really a whole lot of choice on color. I wanted a black one but I would have had to wait until August.

Another nice noob feature of this bike is that when you are at a complete stop and shift up it will only go in to neutral, making it very easy to find neutral at stoplights and such.

Edit: I forgot to mention also that I'm 5'9" and 145 pounds so this bike actually fits me perfectly too.

so it wont let you shift into upper gears when you're at a stop, it only goes into neutral?

What about coming to a stop.. is that just shifting all the way down to first or just stop and put it into neutral when ur at the light..

and first is down right lol sorry guys, still trying to remember the whole shifting process

while I believe a 250 is even too big to start on, I'm not going to flame the guy for starting on one over a 600. I also don't support the MSF, I've never taken it.

It only does this when you are at a complete stop, when you are moving everything is normal. It also won't start or go in to gear with the kickstand down as a safety feature but I'm pretty sure all bikes have that feature.

I was originally going to put down a big chunk of change to buy mine until kawasaki had the "good times" financing promo that they are running. I only pay $39 a month for the first 2 years. Since I doubt I will even have mine for two years and since these things don't lose any value at all it's like I'm renting the [freak]ing thing for $39 a month until I sell it.

lol What? So don't start with a 250 and don't take the MSF? lol

I guess I'm a major idiot because I took the MSF and started with a 600.

Yeah I noticed this.

At first...I was like...WTF....this thing only has 2 gears?

I'm planning on getting mine sometime this fall if I cannot find a decent 600cc bike.

You're an idiot for other reasons, mainly for buying a beat down bike, and I'm sure there's other reasons in your personal life I know nothing about that would support it.

I think the 250 is too big to start on. And I haven't taken the MSF, so I won't support something I know nothing about.

First time I rode the new 250, it had to be pointed out to me. that bike sure is fun, I saw one today with a race-tail on it, looked good.

even having experience with much faster, racier type bikes.. do you think the 250 is still fun?

why do so many people say you get bored with it.. is it just the lack of power in a straight line or what

I had a BLAST on the 250. It's very agile, and is super light. I will buy a used '08 around late '09 or so, I'd love one to commute on. Of course in a straight line it's boring, hell, I've said it before, my 675 is boring in a straight line. The 250 needs tires, and the suspension set up for you, and it's a VERY capable bike.

I don't think eating the mark up they want is worth it, for now.

Yes, I am an idiot yet you're the one not supporting the most widely supported motorcycle training class there is and you haven't taken it. lol The irony...

And I've ridden 2000 miles so far and I've only had a few power issues which are most likely attributed to a loose connection somewhere. I hardly consider the bike "beat down" because of this. For the most part the bike has been running great.

calm down boys, i think the arizona heat is getting to graphiteaccord, lol

if regular gets more than 5 dollars a gallon im getting a 250, but for now ill continue to rock the 600.

i would totally get a full exhaust, jet, seat cowl, clip ons, and better tires and it would kick ***.

oh yea, my opinion on msf, i completely support it but its not for everyone. i learned more on the backroads from my dad and uncle who both have 40 years experiance.
